Chelsea hold talks with Liverpool target

Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville who was also mentioned as a target for Liverpool. As reported by Teamtalk, the Blues have been pursuing a move for Dutchman for a while now and have initiated talks with Leeds.

Leeds United find themselves in a pretty difficult situation after missing out on promotion to the Premier League. Despite their 90-point haul, they could only secure a playoff place and lost to Southampton in the playoff final.

The Whites need to balance the books to stay in line with Profit and Sustainability Rules and the exodus has already started. Teenage sensation Archie Gray moved to Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £40 million joining the list of the top 10 most expensive teenagers in the world game.

Leeds have also parted ways with Glen Kamara, Charlie Cresswell, Marc Roca, and Diego Llorente. Jack Harrison has also joined Everton on a second loan spell but Leeds need to raise more cash.

Summerville caught the eye of top European clubs last season with his exploits. The Dutch winger contributed with 21 goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances across competitions for Daniel Farke's side.

Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool, Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayer Leverkusen have all been linked with the 22-year-old. However, as per Teamtalk, Chelsea have initiated concrete talks with the fleet-footed winger.

As per the report, Leeds United previously valued Summerville at around £30 million to £35 million. However, as reported by Metro, the Whites could now sell the Chelsea and Liverpool target for £16.8 million owing to their financial struggles.

Chelsea star looking to persuade England teammate to join the Blues: Reports

Chelsea star Cole Palmer is reportedly trying to bring England teammate Ollie Watkins to Stamford Bridge. As reported by Football Insider (via Shoot.co.uk), Palmer enjoys the chemistry with the Aston Villa striker both on and off the pitch.

Palmer and Watkins were not automatic starters for England in Euro 2024 but impressed whenever they got the opportunity. Palmer, who scored in the 2-1 loss to Spain in the final, contributed with one goal and one assist in five substitute appearances. Watkins, meanwhile, scored once in three appearances.

The two combined well as Palmer set up Watkins for England's late winner against the Netherlands in the semi-finals. It has been claimed that Palmer believes the two could link up with great effect at Stamford Bridge.

Watkins enjoyed a stellar season at Aston Villa last time out finding the back of the net 27 times while providing 13 assists in 53 appearances. Palmer also had an exceptional debut season for Chelsea scoring 25 goals and producing 15 assists in 45 games in all competitions.
