Championship outfit Burnley are reportedly pursuing a deal to sign Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri on a loan deal with an obligation to buy this summer. The Clarets are building up their squad to help make an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation in the 2023-24 season.

A Manchester United academy graduate, Hannibal made his professional bow at the club and has had two separate loan spells at Birmingham City and Sevilla. The Tunisia international is wanted by Burnley, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, they are in talks with the Red Devils.

Burnley appointed Scott Parker as a replacement for Vincent Kompany, who has taken over as Bayern Munich manager this summer. The Clarets have begun the season in excellent fashion, claiming 4-1 and 5-0 wins over Luton Town and Cardiff City, respectively.

Parkers's side have sanctioned the sale of Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge to Fulham, leaving them a bit light in midfield. This has resulted in their decision to turn to Manchester United for the transfer of the 21-year-old Hannibal.

Hannibal Mejbri was part of Erik ten Hag's squad for the start of the 2023-24 season and even scored his first goal for the club when they lost to Brighton & Hove Albion in September. He fell out of favor at the club and was sent out to Sevilla on loan in January, but he returned after playing just six games for them.

Burnley have already reached an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of young centre-back Bashir Humphreys on a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Parker will be keen to get a deal for the talented Hannibal over the line before the transfer window shuts.

Manchester United forward set to complete Panathinaikos switch - Reports

Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri is closing in on a move to Panathinaikos after both clubs reached an agreement over a fee, Fabrizio Romano reports. The Red Devils were open to selling Pellistri, who failed to nail down a regular berth in their squad since his arrival.

Facundo Pellistri featured for Manchester United in the Community Shield, adding to the 14 appearances he made before heading out on loan last season. The 22-year-old Uruguay international will cost the Greek giants around €6 million, with the Red Devils retaining a significant sell-on clause.

Pellistri found himself behind a number of players in the pecking order at Old Trafford and has decided to move with only one year left on his contract. He will be united with fellow Uruguayan Diego Alonso, who manages the Greek club.
