Barcelona and Manchester United are among a number of suitors who are interested in signing RB Leipzig talent Dani Olmo. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has had an impressive campaign for Spain at EURO 2024, where he has scored a goal and provided an assist. During the club season, he was also impressive, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 25 games.

These performances have opened the doors for Olmo, with European juggernauts now noticing him and showing interest in his services. According to a report from Fichajes, Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United are all making plans to push for his signature. However, they will need to open their purses, with Leipzig said to expect more than €60 million in exchange.

Notably, Dani Olmo came through Barca's La Masia academy before making a name for himself at other clubs. This connection to the Catalan giants could potentially see him make an impressive return to the club and help them beat Real Madrid to the La Liga title.

The two Manchester clubs have taken note of his quality and versatility. At Old Trafford, he could help United return to the echelons of English football after their torrid 8th-place finish in the Premier League last season. At the Etihad Stadium, he could be the rejuvenation Pep Guardiola needs to continue his domination in England.

In the meantime, though, Dani Olmo won't be thinking about his club future. His focus will be on enjoying his outings with Spain at EURO 2024, where they have reached the quarter-finals. They will face the host country Germany on Friday (July 5).

Manchester United minority owner reacts to being unable to sign former Barcelona player

Manchester United minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reacted to being restricted from signing former Barcelona player Jean-Clair Todibo. Notably, the defender now plays for Nice, who Ratcliffe's company INEOS have a stake in.

Ratcliffe spoke about UEFA restrictions on moving players within multi-club ownerships in an interview with Bloomberg, slamming the governing body. He said (via We All Follow United):

“They’ve said we can sell him to another Premiership club but we can’t sell to Manchester United. But that’s not fair on the player and I don’t see what that achieves.”

The former Barcelona player has been on the Red Devils' radar, with Raphael Varane leaving Old Trafford on a free transfer and the club needing a replacement. With both United and Nice playing in the Europa League next season and having the same owners, the rules bar a move between clubs for any player.
