According to Football Transfers, Arsenal are willing to pay £52 million to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer. The 26-year-old Swedish striker impressed in the Portuguese top-flight and the Europa League with Sporting in 2023-24.

In 33 Liga Portugal games, Gyokeres scored 29 goals and provided nine assists. He also produced similar numbers in the Europa League, scoring five goals and providing two assists in nine games.

A number of top European clubs are reportedly interested in his services. Sporting CP are not interested in losing their man for cheap, and the Portuguese giants have set their asking price at £60 million (via TBR Football).

While the Portuguese club are not interested in reducing the valuation of their player, the Gunners believe he should be valued at £52 million, which they are willing to pay.

Time will tell if the Gunners are able to get their man, with the Premier League set to kick off within a month.

Arsenal midfielder told to leave club this summer by pundit

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe, who has struggled to find playing time at the Emirates Stadium in recent seasons, could leave the club this summer.

Smith Rowe managed just 13 Premier League games last season, while making only three UEFA Champions League appearances. This has led to former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor urging the midfielder to leave Arsenal this summer. The pundit said on talkSPORT (via Daily Post):

"He should be going somewhere now – if it’s Fulham I think he could do better than Fulham. There was a stage where Aston Villa were interested in him and that didn’t work out, but if I’m him I’m thinking I could do better than Fulham."
"It is a chance to stay in London (moving to Fulham) and at 24 years old he still has another move in him. Players don’t want to leave big clubs sometimes, it’s hard to leave when he’s been there since 10 and he’s Arsenal through and through. But if you’re not playing football you’re wasting away."

Emile Smith Rowe notably burst into the limelight in the 2021-22 season, playing 33 games and scoring 10 goals in the Premier League. However, injuries have seen the midfielder's minutes dwindle in recent years, with his future at the club now uncertain.
