According to Football Insider, Arsenal have made a U-turn in their stance on Aaron Ramsdale's future. The Gunners are now considering letting Ramsdale leave on a loan, having previously held out for a permanent bid.

Nottingham Forest and Southampton are among the clubs interested in signing the English goalkeeper. They are looking to sign Ramsdale on loan, something the Gunners aren't too keen on. A lack of permanent offers, though, could force them to change their stance. They might let Ramsdale leave on loan late in the transfer window if a permanent bid doesn't arrive, as per the report.

Ramsdale has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates, with David Raya becoming the first choice between the sticks. He made only 11 appearances across competitions last season.

While Arsenal have already signed Raya on a permanent deal, having previously signed the Spaniard on loan, the club want another top goalkeeper in their ranks before letting Ramsdale leave. A sale would be sanctioned after a new goalkeeper joins the side.

Ramsdale, meanwhile, is likely to become the first-choice shot-stopper at both Nottingham Forest and Southampton. Forest have Ramsdale's former teammate Matt Turner in their ranks, as well as Matz Sels. Odysseas Vlachodimos recently left the club for Newcastle United.

Southampton, meanwhile, have Alex McCarthy in their ranks. Gavin Bazunu picked up a massive injury in April and is likely to be sidelined for the remainder of the year.

How much do Arsenal want for Aaron Ramsdale?

Arsenal want £30 million to sanction Aaron Ramsdale's sale, as per The Boot Room. However, clubs aren't willing to match their valuation as Ramsdale hasn't played much recently.

Hence, the Gunners are considering sending Ramsdale on loan so they can maintain his value. Since his 2021 switch from Sheffield United, Ramsdale has made 89 appearances for the Gunners, keeping 32 clean sheets.

Ramsdale was a pivotal part of the side that finished second in the 2022-23 season. However, he barely played the next season. His current deal with the north London club runs until the end of the 2025-26 season.
