According to Simon Mullock of The Mirror, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez. The report states that City want a package inclusive of add-ons of £80 million for the Argentine striker.

Alvarez recently hinted that he'd like to have more first-team game time under his belt. While he was a mainstay in City's starting XI last season, it was mostly due to Erling Haaland's absence through injury.

When Haaland was fit, he was preferred for the big matches. Alvarez, a 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2024 Copa America champion with Argentina, wants to get more game time in important games.

Last season, Alvarez made 54 appearances across competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists. The forward joined City from River Plate in January 2022 and has so far made 103 appearances for the club, scoring 36 goals and providing 18 assists.

The Argentine is contracted with City until the end of the 2027-28 season and has a market value of €90 million, as per Transfermarkt. Atletico Madrid are also believed to be interested in signing Alvarez.

Arsenal currently have Gabriel Jesus in their ranks, a striker they signed from Manchester City. Alvarez, given his current form, could be a better option to have.

PSG interested in Arsenal target Julian Alvarez: Reports

As per ESPN Argentina, Paris Saint-Germain's interest in Julian Alvarez is growing. While they have Goncalo Ramos, the Portugal international has also been linked with a move away to Atletico Madrid.

Atleti also have Alvarez on their radar, as reported by Cesar Luis Merlo. The La Liga club's representatives have already held multiple meetings with Alvarez's camp and are looking to reach an agreement with Manchester City.

With Alvarez and Argentina's Paris Olympics 2024 campaign coming to an end, a decision regarding the striker's future could be expected soon.
