Arsenal have entered into the race for Benfica defender Tomas Araujo, who is also wanted by a host of other sides, including Chelsea, as per Caught Offside. The Portuguese youngster was the subject of Premier League interest in the summer but his club was not prepared to allow him to move.

Crystal Palace identified Araujo as a target in the summer window as they sought a replacement for Joachim Andersen but Benfica turned down their approach. Chelsea's interest was also reported in the closing days of the window but the Blues did not make any concrete offers for the 22-year-old.

Benfica star Tomas Araujo is widely regarded as one of the leading talents in Portuguese football, having established himself at the club. The youngster has already appeared five times for the club this season, helping the side keep three clean sheets.

Araujo is a versatile player who can play at centre-back or full-back, a feature much appreciated in modern-day defenders. This feature, coupled with his quality, has made him an attractive target for Arsenal, as per Caught Offside.

With the likes of Riccardo Calafiori, Jakub Kiwior and Jurrien Timber able to fill in two or more positions, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta would be pleased with another addition.

As per the aforementioned report, Benfica would be willing to part ways with the centre-back for around €20 million, with all of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur interested in his signature. All three sides have various needs for a defender of his qualities, making a move equally possible.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea remain interested in the 22-year-old after their summer enquiry and a move remains possible. The Blues are reportedly prepared to offload Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile and may look to sign the Portuguese star in their place.

Tottenham Hotspur have Radu Dragusin as their only option for centre-back cover, making the signing of another centre-back important to the side. The price tag on Araujo should make him an easy target for them if they choose to pursue a move.

Chelsea and Arsenal interested in Brazilian wonderkid - Reports

Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with a move for Brazilian defender Vitor Reis, who is the latest player to make waves at Palmeiras. The Athletic reports the interest of the Premier League sides in the 18-year-old centre-back.

Palmeiras teenager Reis has already made 11 league appearances this season at the heart of Abel Ferreira's defence. The youngster is wanted by a number of Europe's biggest sides, including Arsenal, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Reis reportedly has a release clause of around £83 million in his contract with Palmeiras, who have produced both Endrick and Estevao Willian recently. The Brazil youth international will be on the books of the Brazilian side until after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, at the earliest, as he is contracted until 2028.
