Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Jonathan David, who was also previously linked with Chelsea. The Gunners have been looking to sign a striker for a while now and the LOSC Lille man is high on their list.

David joined the French side from KAA Gent in the summer of 2020 and has scored 87 goals and provided 20 assists in 192 games for them. He's contributed three goals and two assists in nine games across competitions this season. His performances in recent years have seen him garner plenty of attention.

As per Caught Offside, Arsenal are among numerous clubs interested in signing him. The Gunners were linked with multiple strikers in the summer and Benjamin Sesko remains their priority. The Slovenian striker, however, signed a new contract with RB Leipzig in the summer.

Hence, the north London side could move for David instead. Juventus are also interested in signing the Canada international, which could potentially put Dusan Vlahovic's future in the air. Vlahovic was also linked with Arsenal in the past and the Gunners could move for him if David joins the Bianconeri.

As per ESPN, Chelsea were also monitoring David earlier this summer. However, they shifted their focus to Victor Osimhen, who eventually joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli. The Blues could make a move for David next summer.

David, meanwhile, is open to all options right now, including staying at Lille. His contract expires in 2025 and the club could open talks to extend it.

Mikel Arteta opens up on Arsenal signing Raheem Sterling on loan from Chelsea

While they were linked with numerous other forwards, Arsenal ended up signing Raheem Sterling from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal this summer. He was exiled from the first-team squad by Blues manager Enzo Maresca and will look to return to his form with the Gunners.

In a recent press conference, Mikel Arteta shared it took him just seconds to decide to bring Sterling to the Emirates. He said:

"I knew straight away after 10 seconds that we had to bring him because he really wanted it. After 10 seconds I knew already before the next questions that we had to bring him here."

Sterling made 81 appearances for Chelsea after joining them from Manchester City in 2022, contributing 19 goals and 12 assists. He's already made one substitute appearance for Arsenal this season.
