Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has reportedly popped up as a transfer target for Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.

Ramsdale, 26, dropped down in the Gunners' pecking order in the 2023-24 season due to David Raya's signing on loan from Brentford. He made just 11 appearances across all competitions for his team last campaign, keeping three clean sheets and shipping 12 goals.

Following Raya's £27 million permanent switch to his team earlier this summer, the Englishman is believed to be open to a move away from the Emirates Stadium. As a result, the former Bournemouth man has drawn interest from Nottingham Forest, as per The Sun.

Forest, who finished 17th in the 2023-24 Premier League table with 32 points from 38 games, are hoping to sign Ramsdale on loan this summer. They are unwilling to dish out the player's price tag of £50 million.

Nuno Espirito Santo's club, who have sold shot-stopper Odysseas Vlachodimos to Newcastle United this summer, are keen to bide their time and launch a late move to sign Ramsdale. They believe that Arsenal would be desperate enough to let the goalkeeper depart on a temporary deal in the latter stages of the transfer window.

Forest are reportedly ready to splash a significant loan fee and pay 100 per cent of Ramsdale's wages to force the north London outfit's hand.

Since arriving from Sheffield United for £30 million in 2021, Ramsdale has kept 32 clean sheets in 89 overall appearances for the Gunners.

Arsenal to launch move for Euro 2024 star after selling Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham

Taking to X, acclaimed transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Arsenal are keen to lure Spain midfielder Mikel Merino away from Real Sociedad this summer. He wrote:

"Arsenal are prepared to advance in talks with Mikel Merino's camp next week, after positive contacts. He's not [the] only name on [their] list but well positioned; price tag requested by Real Sociedad will be key. Arteta appreciates him; as soon as [Emile Smith Rowe] leaves, [they] can proceed."

Merino, who netted once in seven matches for Spain at the UEFA Euro 2024, has been a vital starter for Real Sociedad since 2018. He has registered 27 goals and 30 assists in 242 overall outings for them.

Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe has agreed personal terms with Fulham ahead of a move worth up to £34 million, according to Sky Sports. The 24-year-old is likely to complete his medical later this week.
