Arsenal and Barcelona likely to be snubbed by the Bayern star, who is impressed with new manager Kompany

New Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany began his life with the German giants unbeaten in pre-season. The club has played three games under the Belgian in preparation for the upcoming season.

Their first match saw them hammer German lower league side FC Rottach-Egern 14-1 before they drew 1-1 to FC Duren. In their most recent match, the former Manchester City captain led his side to a 2-1 win over Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

Kimmich was vocal about his appreciation of Kompany and the team's style of play under the Belgian.

"You could already see a certain thumbprint. I think it was nice for the spectators too, it went back and forth," said the 29-year old (via Goal).

The German also hinted that he sees his future at the five-time European champions, saying:

"I’m very hungry for the new season and we have ambitious goals together."

There's good news for Bayern fans as well. Sporting Director Max Eberl claimed that there have been "good and positive conversations" to resolve Kimmich's contract situation.

"It was a very good and positive conversation. We will have further discussions. I think the general perception in Germany does not do him justice. Joshua was an important player for FC Bayern for many years and should continue to be so in the future," said Eberl.

Eberl's comments will come as a setback for Arsenal and Barcelona supporters, but be welcomed by the Bayern fans. They would be eager to see the German's association with the club continue beyond the next season.
