AC Milan close to signing Manchester United transfer target after making fresh move: Reports 

AC Milan are reportedly close to finalising a permanent deal to rope in AS Monaco star and Manchester United-linked ace Youssouf Fofana.

Earlier this month, the Red Devils held talks with Monaco over a move to snap up Fofana, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

However, according to reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Milan are close to signing Fofana after improving the structure of their latest bid. They are expected to reach an agreement with Monaco this week.

Fofana, who was subject to a £26 million offer from Nottingham Forest last month, is keen to join the Rossoneri. The 25-year-old would offer good competition to Ismael Bennacer should he join Milan this month.

So far, the Manchester United-linked midfielder has contributed seven goals and 15 assists in 175 matches across competitions for Monaco.

Paul Parker backs 22-year-old Manchester United winger to shine in 2024-25 season

Speaking to MyBettingSites.co.uk, former Manchester United defender Paul Parker showered praise on young forward Amad Diallo. He said:

"Well, I like what I see from him... when you're talking about a wide player at United. In the small run of games he had at the end of last season, he [did] more than what all the others [in his position did]."

Expressing his faith in the Ivory Coast international, Parker continued:

"[He] very rarely gives the ball away. He's positive with the ball, makes the right decisions in terms of what he does with the ball. Out of all of them there, I would put my faith in him as a wide player before the rest of them. That's without a doubt."

Opining on how Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag's continued trust in Marcus Rashford could hinder Diallo's development, Parker remarked:

"But the manager's got that problem. He's got a player who's born in Manchester and he's meant to be like Manchester United's PR boy? So, the manager might feel obliged to keep trying to flog that one and hope that somewhere along the line it's going to happen. Because we know that if he has two good games and scores two goals straight away, the whole thing's going to change."

Last season, Diallo scored two goals and laid out one assist in 12 total matches for the Red Devils after recovering from a serious knee issue.

Rashford, on the other hand, found the back of the net eight times and registered five assists in 43 games across competitions last campaign.
