Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City handed boost in pursuit of Bayern Munich star: Reports

Musiala
Musiala's contract situation is "difficult" according to Bayern Director Max Eberl

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has put his suitors, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Manchester City on high alert as his contract situation at the club remains unresolved. The Bundesliga side's Director Max Eberl shared an update of the negotiations with the German's agents.

Eberl admitted that the Bundesliga giants are finding contract talks with Jamal Musiala’s camp "difficult". The 21-year-old is highly coveted across Europe and his performances in the 2024 Euros further added to his growing stature.

The attacking midfielder scored thrice in five matches for Germany at the continental tournament. Despite Germany's quarter-final exit at the tournament, Musiala was the joint winner of the Golden Boot.

He has started the Bundesliga season strongly as well, scoring twice and setting up another in the three matches he has played so far. He has been linked with the reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid as well as Premier League duo, Manchester United and Manchester City.

With his current contract set to expire in June 2026, Bayern Munich are eager to tie the 21-year-old attacking midfielder down to a new contract.

However, according to reports, Musiala’s representatives want him to be among the top earners at the club and are reportedly demanding wages of £300,000 per week.

When asked about Jamal Musiala's contract amidst links to Manchester United and Real Madrid, Eberl told Sport1:

"It’s difficult, but not impossible – as Jamal knows what he has at Bayern Munich. He grew up here and has brought himself to this level. Talks are intensifying. We are extremely ambitious and he knows that he wants to win titles."

Musiala spent a large part of his youth career with Chelsea before moving to Bayern in 2019, where he rose up the ranks to become one of the mainstays of the Bavarian club. With links to Manchester United, he could be set for a return to the country where he learnt his trade.

"Things can change quickly in football" - Musiala on Manchester United and Real Madrid links

In a recent interview, new Manchester United signing Joshua Zirkzee admitted that he tried to tempt Musiala to join him at the Red Devils in the summer.

Speaking to Welt Am Sonntag, Musiala spoke about the links to the Premier League giants and Real Madrid:

"I am very happy at FC Bayern and fully focused on our goals with the club and the national team."

However, he did put in a rider by saying that "things can change in football".

"I don't think too much about where I will be playing in five years. Things can always change quickly in the world of football," he admitted.

Musiala is expected to feature for the Bavarian club for their Champions League opener against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, September 17.
