Real Madrid secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Villareal on Saturday, October 5, to draw level with rivals Barcelona at the top of the La Liga standings. Los Blancos bounced back from their shock UEFA Champions League defeat against LOSC Lille and returned to winning ways.

Uruguayan midfielder Federico Valverde was the star of the show at the Santiago Bernabeu, bagging a goal and an assist in the game. The Spanish giants next visit Celta Vigo on October 19, where they will hope to build on their recent win.
