Plymouth and Luton face off in the Championship on Friday.

Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town get round seven of the EFL Championship underway at Home Park on Friday. The sides head into the weekend off the back of contrasting results, with the Hatters claiming a narrow home win over Sheffield Wednesday.

The hosts were sent back down to earth in Championship wth a 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday. That followed a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Sunderland, where Joe Edwards netted the all-important goal in the third minute of stoppage time to hand Wayne Rooney’s men their first win of the league campaign.

Plymouth have picked up five points from their first six games to sit 20th in the standings, two points and five places adrift of their visitors.

Luton, meanwhile, secured consecutive wins for the first time this season when they edged out 10-man Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at home. Before that, Rob Edwards’ side had snapped their eight-game winless run across competitions with a 1-0 victory over Millwall at the Den.
