Pirlo aims big for Juventus

Andrea Pirlo of Juventus has urged his teammates to treat Monday’s trip to Roma as “an important stepping stone towards something very prestigious”.

The Bianconeri are the only side still unbeaten and must get a win to stay clear at the top of the table, though they are resisting talk of the Scudetto, Xinhua reported.

“This can be an important stepping stone towards something very prestigious,” Pirlo was quoted as saying by football-italia.net.

Francesco Totti is going through a difficult moment because of injuries, but he remains a great champion. I often talk to Daniele De Rossi when we are on international duty. His contract with Roma expires in June, but it’s up to him to decide whether or not to change clubs.”

Few expected Pirlo to walk away from Milan after 10 years, but the move to Juventus has revitalized his career.

“Last season, for the first time in a decade at Milan, I was out for a long while due to an injury. I knew that I had more to give and this year started with even more hunger to prove how much I’m worth.”

“Antonio Conte is a great motivator who has given the team a specific identity. By following him, we can reach prestigious targets,” he said.
