Fans have reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo starting for Portugal in their UEFA Euro 2024 quarter-final with France in Hamburg on Friday (July 5). Ronaldo and Co. are coming off a tense Round-of-16 win over Slovenia earlier this week.

Despite dominating proceedings, Ronaldo and Co. were forced to extra time, where the A Selecao captain missed a penalty as a shootout ensued. However, the 39-year-old redeemed himself by converting his team's first effort in an eventual 3-0 win to book their place in the last-eight.

Nevertheless, Ronaldo remains scoreless in four games in Euro 2024, but fans reckon the five-time Ballon d'Or winner - who is starting again - will be on the scoresheet and eliminate Les Bleus.

One fan said:

"Portugal win will france 2-0. Ronaldo will score the two goals. He will score a free-kick."

Another said:

"A Portugal win with a Ronaldo brace, a penalty included. Who says no?"

A third fan said:

"2-2 Ronaldo brace. Portugal wins on penalties. You saw it here first."

There were similar reactions from other fans, with Its B here tweeting:

"I get a feeling Portugal are winning this with a penalty from Ronaldo or something."

The Slaterr commented:

"Portugal and Ronaldo Magic today"

How has Cristiano Ronaldo fared for Portugal at Euro 2024 ahead of France clash?

Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't quite had the Euro 2024 campaign he would have hoped for, as the Portugal captain is scoreless after four games. It's the first time in 11 appearances that the 39-year-old went through a group stage of a major tournament without scoring.

However, he has an assist in the competition, setting up Bruno Fernandes for A Selecao's third goal in the 3-0 group-stage win over Portugal. Ronaldo missed a penalty in the Round of 16 but became the first player in Euros history to score in three shootouts across as many editions and also the oldest player to score in the shootout.

Can he now make more history by scoring a much-awaited maiden goal at Euro 2024 to become the first player to score in six different editions of the competition and also become the oldest scorer at the Euros?
