Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has mocked Juventus after they sold Federico Chiesa to Liverpool for a reported initial fee of €12 million on August 29. The Old Lady had to settle for a massive loss after poaching Chiesa from Fiorentina back in 2020 for €60 million.

Chiesa established himself as one of the most exciting young wingers in the world during his time at Fiorentina. He helped Italy in Euro 2020 as well and was subsequently named in the Team of the Tournament.

Unfortunately, the 26-year-old was unable to reach his full potential at Juventus, scoring 32 goals and providing 23 assists in 131 appearances across competitions. He also struggled to stay fit, missing 91 games in total due to injury.

Chiesa was then now it new Juventus boss Thiago Motta's plans going forward. It enabled Arne Slot and Co. to make a move for him late in the transfer market. The Reds have further bolstered their exceptional attacking depth, and €12 million could prove to be a bargain if Chiesa were to get back to his best form.

Commisso taunted Juventus while talking to Gazetta dello Sport as he said (as per Liverpool ECHO):

“Well, what should I do if they (Juventus) are the only team that comes with the money? We made a great deal with Vlahovic, the most important in my five years. And look at Chiesa: I read that he joined Liverpool for €12m. I had sold him for nearly €60m. Who did good business there, the others or Rocco?”

Chiesa could make his debut for the Reds against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, September 14.

"He has got that legacy to play for" - Ian Wright makes bold prediction on Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool

Arsenal great Ian Wright reckons Mohamed Salah will sign a new deal and stay at Merseyside beyond this season to continue breaking records at Anfield. The Egyptian King is in the final year of his current deal and has revealed the club's hierarchy are yet to discuss terms over a new contract.

Salah has had a phenomenal start to the season, garnering three goals and three assists in his first three games under Arne Slot. He appears to be as sharp as ever and remains one of the fittest players in the league. Many fans will be hoping the 32-year-old - as well as Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold - will be offered new deals in the coming months.

Wright said (via Rousing the Kop):

"I do get the impression that he will probably like to stay at Liverpool and break records. He has got that legacy to play for. Let’s say he stays for three years. Even if he dropped off in the last year, that’s 10 years of unbelievable Liverpool service. I believe that he will probably stay if Liverpool go about it.”

Salah has established himself as one of the Reds' greatest-ever players over the past seven seasons. He's scored 214 goals and registering 92 assists in 352 appearances across competitions.
