Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos has commented on his future as the 20-year-old Brazilian eyes more game time. Santos claimed his first preference would be to stay at Stamford Bridge but didn't hide the fact that he wants to play more.

Santos spent the 2023-24 away on loan at Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg. He made only two appearances for Forest and 11 for Strasbourg over the course of the last season. The central midfielder is yet to make an appearance for the Blues.

Santos has now reflected on his future, telling PL Brasil in a recent interview (via SB Nation):

"I'm very calm about [the future]. We talk a lot about it here. I want to be playing. My biggest wish is to be at Chelsea, of course. By playing, I can pave my way faster to the highest level and get to the Brazilian national team and show my potential."

Santos is a highly-rated talented youngster but is one of a number of young talents that the Blues have at their disposal at the moment.

Chelsea youngster Andrey Santos highlights his favorite position

Andrey Santos is a versatile midfielder who can play in a defensive role and also out wide as he is good at driving forward with the ball.

Santos has now claimed that he feels very comfortable marking opponents when playing as a defensive midfielder. He is also confident in helping the team move forward.

Santos told PL Brasil:

"People ask me about [my preference] to play as a defensive midfielder and I don't know how to answer. As a defensive midfielder, I feel very comfortable marking, as I have improved a lot in France. I also feel even more comfortable playing out wide. Breaking the line and finding a pass forward."

Fans will be eager to see what the 2024-25 season holds for the Brazilian and if he gets a chance to make a mark in the Premier League.
