Chelsea fans were elated with the Blues' 3-0 victory over Mexican side Club America in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, July 31. It was the Premier League giants' first win on their tour of the United States. They previously drew 2-2 against Wrexham on July 24 and lost 1-4 to Celtic on July 27.

French forward Christopher Nkunku opened the scoring in the third minute, making no mistake from the penalty spot. Marc Guiu, who recently arrived from Catalan giants Barcelona, doubled Chelsea's advantage in the 21st minute.

Substitute Noni Madueke placed the cherry on the cake with a 79th-minute penalty, sealing Enzo Maresca's first win in charge of Chelsea. Fans were ecstatic after the victory, claiming the team just needed time to get their act together.

Here is a selection of fan reactions (via X):

@Bewhatyoubejr was over the moon with the win, writing: "Enzo (Fernandez) back, Nkunku 3 goals in 3 matches, Reece James looking sharp, (Romeo) Lavia on top of his game, A new ball playing goal keeper (Filip Jorgensen), 3 goals and a clean sheet. It was a good day. Great performance guys."
"WE ARE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUEEEE," @cfcbray exclaimed.
"Solid performance from the team as a whole can’t wait for our next game," @Dingi_1234 claimed.

@WasiyullahB wrote an emphatic analysis, which read:

"Early days but: 1} Starting to love Maresca ball, 2} Romeo Lavia is a powerhouse, 3} Nkunku giving prime Eden Hazard vibes, 4} Impressed with Marc Guiu, 5} (Malo) Gusto adapting LCB quite easily, 6} Reece James RCB >> Inverting, 7} KDH (Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall) gonna cook under Enzo (Maresca), 8} (Ben) Chilwell & (Armando) Broja should pack their bags. Ps; This was probably the last game before heavy rotation cause we might start seeing more minutes given to the players who are part of Maresca's plan."
@Gyata_Ba_ appreciated the Blues' display, but didn't get too far ahead of himself, writing, "That was a good performance. Let’s wait until we play City and Madrid.
"Nkunku this season is going to cook," @Santoss_CFC claimed.
"Give us the EPL trophy already," @lokugideon declared.
"WHAT A PERFORMANCE. MARESCA IS LEADING US TO GLORY," @CfcSheikh concluded.

"Very happy" - Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca after 3-0 win over Club America

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca expressed his happiness and claimed that his squad continued to improve after they beat Club America 3-0 in a pre-season friendly.

Talking to reporters after the game, the Italian said (via We Ain't Got No History):

"Very happy... In this moment, the main focus cannot be the result. It’s to analyse or judge the performance and to see how we improve. In my personal opinion, from Wrexham, Celtic and today, we continue to improve. This is the most important thing."
“We struggled against Wrexham for many reasons, we struggled against Celtic for many reasons but there were many important things we improved. Today, we continued that line. Since we started, what we do in training has to happen here in the game," Maresca concluded.

Chelsea face sterner tests ahead in their pre-season tour, in the form of Manchester City (Saturday, August 3), Real Madrid (Tuesday, August 6), and Inter Milan (Sunday, August 11).
