New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca looks on.

Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo is confident about his effective playing style under new boss Enzo Maresca. The Italian arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer, replacing Mauricio Pochettino, who won the Championship with Leicester City last season.

Meanwhile, Adarabioyo has also arrived at the club this summer after leaving Fulham on a free transfer at the end of last season. The 26-year-old made his unofficial Blues debut in the 2-2 friendly draw with Wrexham on Wednesday (July 24).

Maresca provided a glimpse of his playing style in the Wrexham stalemate, using a fluid formation depending on which team has the ball. Adarabioyo - who played 45 minutes in that game - offered his take on his new boss' playing style (Football.London):

"It suits every player here really. We're all very talented footballers, and we're looking forward to playing the style."

He added:

"From day one, he's been implementing his style of play, and we're all buying into it. It's a lot of football. We're enjoying it.
"Wait and see (what we can expect from a Maresca Chelsea). I'll say wait and see. We'll show a glimpse of that in pre-season, but come the first game of the season, you'll definitely see the style."

The Blues open their 2024-25 Premier League campaign at home to four-time defending champions Manchester City on August 17.

Chelsea commenced their pre-season earlier this week with a 2-2 stalemate with Wrexham in Santa Clara. Christopher Nkunku and Lesley Ugochukwu were the scorers for the Blues, while Wrexham scored through Luke Bolton and Jack Marriott.

Next up, Maresca's side take on Celtic in Indiana on Saturday (July 28) before they clash with Club America in Atlanta four days later. Their pre-season continues against Manchester City in Ohio on August 3.

The Blues then lock horns with Real Madrid on August 6 in Charlotte before winding up their pre-season against Inter Milan five days later in London.
