Barcelona striker Vitor Roque has been the subject of interest from two sides in the Premier League as the Spanish giants are keen to offload him. The Brazilian youngster is on the radar of Bournemouth and Everton, both of whom have made contact with his club.

Teenage sensation Roque left his native Brazil to join the Catalan giants in January 2024 after having signed for the Spanish giants months earlier. The striker found himself competing with Robert Lewandowski for minutes but failed to show his worth to the side in his debut season.

Former Barcelona boss Xavi was unimpressed by Vitor Roque, and his successor Hansi Flick has similar feelings. This has resulted in the Spanish side asking him to seek a move elsewhere as he does not feature prominently in the manager's plans.

A report from SPORT indicates that there may be some movement for Roque this month, seeing as Bournemouth and Everton have thrown their hats in the ring for him. Both Premier League sides are looking to bolster their attacking ranks, and are keen on the 19-year-old, either on a temporary or permanent basis.

Bournemouth, in particular, have been left sweating over a new striker after sanctioning the sale of Dominic Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur. They have been linked with Eddie Nketiah, as well, but may prefer to sign the younger Roque.

Vitor Roque turned down two offers to join Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal despite having his shirt number taken off him at Barcelona. The teenager may be forced to choose a Premier League move as he risks not being registered for the season at the Spanish side.

Monaco trounce Barcelona to claim Gamper Trophy

French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco trounced FC Barcelona in front of their fans to claim the 2024 Joan Gamper Trophy. The French side claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over their Spanish opposition to hand them a final pre-season defeat.

The first half of the encounter failed to produce any goals, but the second half proved to be fruitful for the visiting side. Only five minutes in, highly rated Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara opened the scoring for Monaco.

Monaco had more in store for Hansi Flick's side, with Breel Embolo doubling their advantage just seven minutes later. Summer signing Christian Mawissa also got in on the action in the 86th minute to complete the scoring in the game.

Barcelona have just under a week to round off their preparations for the 2024-25 season. They face Valencia in their LaLiga opener on August 17 at the Mestalla and will be keen to begin the season well.
