Tottenham Hotspur's Cristian Romero has slammed the club after their defeat to Arsenal. He has since deleted the reshare of the post which took aim at his club for their treatment of players.
Romero featured for Spurs in their 1-0 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday (September 15). His counterpart Gabriel Malgalhaes rose highest to meet Bukayo Saka's corner in the second half to give the Gunners the win.
The Argentine defender indicated that he was tired by reposting journalist Gaston Edul's post on X. The post spoke about the lack of the travel arrangements Tottenham made for its players out on international duty.
Romero played every minute of both of Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia and returned to London on Friday. Spurs, unlike other Premier League clubs, don't arrange private transport for their players.
Arsenal, however, got their Brazilian contingent back in London on Thursday itself to help prepare for the derby. Edul shared the details of it on his post, which translated to English reads:
"Tottenham lost to Arsenal again. It does not end up consolidating itself to fight because it is not in the details: It was the only Premier League club that brought back its players from their national teams on its own and without its own logistics, as decided by its leaders. It gave it an advantage because its players arrived with less rest than the rest: Cuti Romero played with a feverish squad."
Romero played in five of Argentina's six Copa America matches in the summer and has played every minute of Spurs' league campaign so far. He also played 180 minutes for his country over the international break.
Ange Postecoglou's side now play Coventry City in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, September 18, where Romero could get a rest. They then resume their Premier League campaign on September 21 against Brentford.

The 26-year-old Argentinian was marking Arsenal defender Gabriel when he headed the ball in from three yards out in the 64th minute. Speaking on Sky Sports, both Gary Neville and Harry Redknapp analysed Cristian Romero and Guglielmo Vicario's mistakes in the goal.
The former Manchester United defender said:
"The goalkeeper’s rooted. He heads it three yards out, he’s free, and Romero, the centre-back, is picking up Gabriel. It’s really poor from the Argentinian, but I’d want my goalkeeper to come for it. He gets blocked and then he ends up rooted."
Former Spurs boss Rednapp highlighted that Vicario has been caught on like this in the past as well, something that opponents have targeted as Tottenham's weakness. He said:
"Tottenham, they have gone for man-to-man so they are all obsessed with their players and it is a little bit selfish. Yes, Romero is good at kicking people, but when it comes to stuff like that he has got to do better."
Ange Postecoglou's side have won just once this season and sit in the 13th spot in the Premier League table after four points in as many matches.
