Fans are in disbelief as Nicolas Jackson signed a new deal with Chelsea that extends his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The Senegalese striker's previous contract with the Blues was set to expire in 2031.

Jackson, who joined the Blues from Villarreal in 2023, netted 17 goals and provided six assists in 44 appearances across competitions last season.

Fans took to social media and flooded with posts reacting to Jackson signing a two-year contract extension with Chelsea.

While some fans mocked the 23-year-old's new deal, others found it unnecessary. Here are some of their reactions from X:

One fan wrote:

"That was close, thought that deal was going to run out"

Another added:

"2033 😂😂😂 Just name the stadium after him"
"2033😂😂😂😂 Is this a jail sentence," chimed in another fan.

One account posted:

"Was that really necessary? 💀"

Another tweeted:

"9 year contract? Bloody crazy.. what has he done to deserve 9 years!!"
"I don’t see a reason to why he had to extend the contract," posted another.

One user wrote:

"How could you give this bad player a new long contract? for what reason exactly? Chelsea will financially regret this decision."

While another wrote:

"That does not stop his sale next year"

Nicolas Jackson has played in Chelsea's three Premier League fixtures this season, registering two goals and one assist.

Enzo Maresca provides fitness updates ahead of Chelsea's PL clash against Bournemouth

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca provided fitness updates on Reece James, Malo Gusto, and Romeo Lavia ahead of their Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, September 14.

Both James and Lavia sustained hamstring injuries while Gusto suffered a thigh injury.

The Italian manager has confirmed that James and Gusto will miss the Bournemouth game. However, Lavia could make the trip to Vitality Stadium.

At the pre-match press conference, Maresca said (via METRO):

"Malo is still out. He is not available for tomorrow’s game. Romeo Lavia is very close; hopefully, he is back for the next game,’ Maresca added. Unfortunately, Reece James needs more time."

The Blues are 11th in the Premier League table with four points while Bournemouth are eighth with five points.
