Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo sent a heartfelt message to his fans after reaching the milestone of one billion followers across all his social media platforms. The 39-year-old thanked his supporters for being part of his life and claimed that 'the best is yet to come'.

Ronaldo is one of the most-followed celebrities on social media. He has the highest number of followers on Instagram (over 639 million) and Facebook (over 170 million), and has over 113 million followers on X as well.

On August 21, the Portuguese maestro launched his brand new YouTube channel. It broke the record for the fastest account to reach a million subscribers (an hour and a half) and is still growing rapidly (over 60 million subscribers already).

On September 12, Ronaldo incredibly surpassed a billion followers across all platforms. Sending a message to his fans in a post on X, he wrote:

"We've made history — 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number - it's a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond. From the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world, I've always played for my family and for you, and now 1 billion of us stand together."
"You've been with me every step of the way, through all the highs and the lows. This journey is our journey, and together, we've shown that there are no limits to what we can achieve. Thank you for believing in me, for your support, and for being part of my life. The best is yet to come, and we'll keep pushing, winning, and making history together," the post concluded.

The incredible achievement reflects on Ronaldo's status as a global superstar, above and beyond his spectacular footballing career.

"They think they know everything" - Cristiano Ronaldo rubbishes rumours of a coaching career post-retirement

Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo recently claimed that he would not take up a coaching role after he hangs up his boots. The 39-year-old, who currently plies his trade at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, lashed out at the new generation of footballers, claiming that they 'don't take advice'.

In an interview on former Manchester United center-back Rio Ferdinand's YouTube channel, the iconic forward said (via Mirror):

"For me will be difficult one day to be a coach, because I don't have passions for this generation, it's difficult especially in football, because they don't take advice by our experience. They think they know everything, they think the phones will give you good education, the TikTok, the Instagram."
"I have other things to worry about, another chapter of my life that is a business part that I'm excited about. It will be a challenge to me and learn other areas I don't know, be more involved in my business and I think will be good," Ronaldo concluded.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has started the 2024-25 season on fire, with four goals and two assists in four games. Up next, he could be seen in action when Al-Nassr take on Al-Ahli on September 13.
