Supercomputer predicts where Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United will finish in 2024-25 Premier League season

Data Analytics platform Opta revealed their predictions for the traditional top-four of Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as defending champions Manchester City for the 2024-25 Premier League. The competition kicks off on August 16.

The Opta supercomputer not only predicted about who haave the best chance of winning the Premier League but also who could qualify for Europe's elite competitions and who could get relegated.

Unsurprisingly, it predicted Pep Guardiola's Manchester City to win the Premier League again. If that happens, it would be City's fifth straight league title and seventh in eight years.

Their derby rivals, Manchester United, are projected to miss out on the Champions League yet again by finishing sixth, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea - in that order - are expected to finish in the top-four.

Opta predicts Chelsea to pip Manchester United and join Arsenal and Liverpool in top 4

New Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been predicted to finish third in the Premier League for the second straight year. Liverpool are yet to dip into the transfer market, and that could have a major impact on their domestic campaign, according to Opta.

Arsenal have been picked as the side to once again give Manchester City the closest fight for the title. Mikel Arteta's side have strengthened in the summer, signing defender Riccardo Calafiori and making goalkeeper David Raya's move permanent. Arsenal, though, are predicted to fall short.

The biggest surprise, though, are Chelsea, who the supercomputer backed to finish in the top 4. New manager Enzo Maresca is expected to lead them to fourth spot despite their scattergun approach in the transfer window.

At the other end of the table, the three promoted clubs - Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton - are projected to go straight back into the Championship. Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Bournemouth could be involved in a relegation scrap with the newly promoted sides.

Aston Villa's top-4 finish last season could cost them another such finish in the upcoming campaign, with their European commitments set to affect them in the league, where they are predicted to end eighth.

Manchester United and Tottenham will likely end in sixth and seventh, respectively, while Newcastle United (fifth), Crystal Palace (ninth) and West Ham United (tenth) will round off the top half of the table.

Here's how the Premier League table could look like at the end of the 2024-25 Premier League season, as per Opta.
