La Liga club Sevilla have stayed true to their hilarious online presence after aiming a dig at Chelsea's Marc Cucurella after he won the UEFA Euro 2024 with Spain earlier this month. The left-back had promised to dye his hair red in the event of La Roja winning the trophy, which they did after defeating England 2-1 in the final on July 14.
In the wake of this update, Sevilla's X (Formerly Twitter) account quoted the main tweet with a funny caption that read:
"We join the rest of the footballing world in expressing our devastation on such a sad day for the game."
Despite having no connection with Sevilla, the club's English account took the liberty to take a dig at Marc Cucurella, as they have done several times before with other teams and players.
Be it posting a cheeky message after winning a trophy, or aiming sly digs at teams from other countries after they underperform, Sevilla's socials have provided great online entertainment for football fans of late. However, their performances on the pitch could not be more contrasting.
The club struggled in La Liga last season as they only managed a 14th-placed finish with just 41 points. Having finished in the top four as recently as the 2021-22 season, Sevilla will look to bounce back and reclaim their place among Spain's top clubs.
Reliving Marc Cucurella's Euro-winning song with Spain teammates
Marc Cucurella concocted a rather catchy song that name-dropped Erling Haaland following Spain's Euro 2024 triumph. During the post-tournament celebrations, the Chelsea defender was captured standing on a table and singing the song in Spanish, with the lyrics going:
"Cucurella eats paella, Cucurella drinks Estrella, Haaland trembles that Cucurella is coming."

Cucurella was an integral part of a Spanish side that set Euro 2024 alight with their exciting performances. He featured in five of Spain's six games leading up to the final and put in solid performances in each of them. However, his crowning moment came in the final when it mattered the most.
Marc Cucurella received the ball from Mikel Oyarzabal on the left flank before playing a pinpoint cross back to the Real Sociedad attacker, who tucked in the winner at the near post in the 86th minute. The goal all but sealed the trophy for Spain and a spot for Cucurella in Spanish football folklore for years to come.
