Serie A giants make €30 million offer to sign Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku – Reports

Serie A giants Napoli have reportedly made a verbal offer worth €30 million to sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea. Lukaku has been out of favor at Chelsea for a while and spent the 2023-24 season on loan at AS Roma.

As per Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are keen on signing Lukaku and are prepared to secure his transfer even before finalizing the sale of Victor Osimhen. Their verbal offer to the Blues is for guaranteed €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses. They are now awaiting a response from the English club.

The report also claims that Chelsea value the striker at €43 million and are unlikely to accept Napoli's initial offer. As such, the chances that the 31-year-old will remain at the club are high, which could create problems for the Blues.

Outgoings for Chelsea are really important in order to help them comply with the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules. Players like Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah, and David Datro Fofana are already up for sale.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said that Lukaku is already in direct talks with Napoli manager Antonio Conte, as he has made it clear that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge.

Romelu joined Chelsea for his second spell at the club from Inter Milan in 2021 for a reported fee of £97.5 million. The move, however, did not work out well for both the player and the club, as he was loaned back to the Nerazzurri the following summer.

Chelsea continue Victor Osimhen talks amid Romelu Lukaku deal

With the deal for Atletico Madrid's Samu Omorodion collapsing, Chelsea have turned their attention back to Victor Osimhen, as per HITC. According to reports, the Nigerian striker has explicitly told Napoli that he wants to leave as he didn’t play a single match in their pre-season tour.

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea will not rush into a deal for Osimhen as they still hope that they can sign him on loan. Osimhen's agent has previously stated that the striker is unwilling to leave Napoli on loan.
