Ronaldinho has clarified his stance after the scathing rant against Brazil's national team ahead of Copa America 2024.

The 2002 FIFA World Cup winner recently went on a stunning rant against his country's current roster. The former Barcelona, PSG, and AC Milan superstar claimed that the current crop of players lacked passion.

He further revealed that he won't be watching any of Brazil's games in the upcoming Copa America 2024. Ronaldinho has now claimed that his statements were to draw a reaction from the team. He said (via Madrid Zone on X):

"I said that to get a reaction from everyone. I'm going to support Brazil like never before. Brazil needs this support, the young players have a lot of talent and are in dire need of support from Brazilian people. It's Copa America now and we can come back with a trophy."

He added:

"I teamed up with Rexona to support Brazil and we will create this massive chain of support for Brazil."

The Selecao drew 1-1 with the USA and won 3-2 against Mexico in their preparation for Copa America 2024. Dorival Junior's team are in Group D alongside Costa Rica, Colombia, and Paraguay.

Brazil start their campaign on June 24 against Costa Rica. The nine-time South American champions are looking to add to their collection. Ronaldinho, however, stirred the pot with his comments ahead of the Copa America. He even claimed that he'd boycott his country's games.
