Mohamed Salah requested Liverpool fans to remember him as one of the best players to have played for the club

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has claimed that he would be happy if the Anfield faithful remember him as one of the best players to have played for the club. The Egyptian forward is one of the top scorers in the history of the club and also holds a whole host of club records.

Salah joined Liverpool from Italian side AS Roma for a reported €42 million fee in July 2017. Under legendary manager Jurgen Klopp, he blossomed into one of the best forwards in world football.

The Egyptian winger started his Anfield career on an explosive note, tying the then-EPL goal-scoring record with 32 goals (and 10 assists) in 36 league games in 2017-18. Overall, he has racked up a whopping 213 goals and 90 assists in 351 appearances across all competitions for the Reds.

Salah is currently fifth on Liverpool's all-time goal-scoring chart, cementing his status as a bonafide club legend. When asked what he wants his legacy at Anfield to be like, the 32-year-old told Men in Blazers (via LFC Transfer Room on X):

"I want them to always remember that I gave everything for the club because that is very important to me. The people remind you that you gave everything for the club. And (I hope) they say that (I am) one of the best players to ever play for Liverpool."
"They don't have to say the best, it's their decision, but at least they say one of the best. They can say one of the top two, its fine, between me and Stevie (Steven Gerrard), it's okay," Salah added.

The Egyptian maestro currently has under 12 months remaining on his contract. With interest from the Saudi Pro League intensifying over the last few months, his future at Anfield hangs in the balance.

"My kids are scousers now" - Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah makes heartwarming claim

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah made a heartwarming claim about his kids, claiming that they were born as "Scousers" due to his allegiance to the club.

In an interview with Men In Blazers, the Egyptian attacker said:

"I've changed a lot (since I arrived in 2017). I came here at 24, now I'm 32, eight years in the city. My kids are Scousers (people from Liverpool) now, they do the language with the accent as well."
"As a player also, I developed a lot. Now, I am one of the experienced players in the team. My role has changed on the field and outside it. Now, as a player, you are aware of everything in the game, you're more calm, you know football more than before now."
"You can handle it well because you have more experience and you deal with the situation as done 100 times before. You can now control your emotions in the game and set an example for the youngsters," Salah concluded.

Up next, he will be in action when Liverpool face off against Manchester United in a mouth-watering Premier League fixture on September 1.
