Real Madrid have entered the international break sitting second in the La Liga table after nine games this season. Only leaders Barcelona, who sit three points above, have scored more goals than Los Blancos' 19 in the league this campaign.

Meanwhile, the Spanish champions have received some good news in their pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold. Elsewhere, Arsenal are not worried about William Saliba's future, even though the player has turned heads at the Santiago Bernabeu.

On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from October 11, 2024.

Real Madrid receive Trent Alexander-Arnold boost

Liverpool are preparing for life without Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to Caught Offside. The 25-year-old right-back is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and is yet to sign an extension.

Real Madrid have apparently identified Alexander-Arnold as the ideal successor for Dani Carvajal at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Spanish full-back picked up an ACL injury this month and is expected to be sidelined for around 10 months.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos are already planning for a Bosman move for the English right-back at the end of this season. It was previously believed that Liverpool will fight tooth and nail to keep hold of their prized asset.

However, it now appears that the Reds are preparing for his eventual exit, which will be music to the La Liga champions' ears. The Merseyside club have identified Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen as the ideal replacement for Alexander-Arnold.

Monaco right-back Vanderson and Fioretina's Michael Kayode are also on Liverpool's radar. Interestingly, Real Madrid could even agree on a pre-contract with Alexander-Arnold in January if he continues to stall a renewal at Anfield.

Arsenal relaxed about William Saliba situation

Arsenal are relaxed about William Saliba's future amid interest from Real Madrid, according to Caught Offside. Recent reports have suggested that Los Blancos have identified the French defender as a possible option to strengthen their backline in 2025.

The LatLiga champions are in urgent need of defensive reinforcements and Saliba could prove to be a superb option. The 23-year-old has been rock-solid at the back for the north London side in the past two campaigns. He helped them keep the highest number of clean sheets (18) in the league last season.

His efforts have already turned heads at the Santiago Bernabeu. Interest from Real Madrid has also generated worry among Gunners fans. However, Arsenal remain unperturbed about the developments.

William Saliba is under contract at the Emirates until 2027 and remains happy at the club. He has shown no inclinations to leave and there have never been any concrete talks with Los Blancos. Mikel Arteta's team are on the rise and the club believe they will be able to convince the Frenchman to stay even if the LaLiga champions come calling.

Arda Guler rubbished rumours of rift with Carlo Ancelotti

Arda Guler has brushed aside rumors of a fallout with Carlo Ancelotti over his game time with Real Madrid. The Turkish youngster arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023 with a huge reputation.

Guler failed to live up to the billing last season, missing the entire first half of the campaign due to injuries. He ended the season with six goals from 12 games across competitions for Los Blancos.

This season, the 19-year-old has struggled for chances under Carlo Ancelotti, despite injuries to multiple players. Recent reports have suggested that the player is considering his options as he aims to play regular football.

However, speaking recently as cited by Madrid Universal, Guler insisted that he enjoyed a cordial relationship with the Italian manager.

“There are no problems between me and Ancelotti. I am getting more minutes this year. Everything is fine. Of course, I want to play every game, but that is normal. There are no problems,” said Guler.

Guler has appeared 10 times across competitions this season for Real Madrid, three of which have been starts.
