Real Madrid have already bolstered their squad by roping in Kylian Mbappe and Endrick this summer. However, the La Liga giants are expected to target further reinforcements before the end of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos are not eyeing a move for a French midfielder this summer. Elsewhere, Brahim Diaz remains determined to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and fight for his place in Carlo Ancelotti's team.

On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from August 5, 2024.

Real Madrid not eyeing Adrien Rabiot

Real Madrid are not interested in Adrien Rabiot, according to AS. The La Liga champions could be in the market for a new midfielder this summer following Toni Kroos' retirement.

Although Carlo Ancelotti is well-stocked in the middle of the park, Dani Ceballos' uncertain future could tempt the Italian manager to seek reinforcements. Rabiot is proven in the European circuit and is a highly experienced campaigner.

Furthermore, he is available on a Bosman move this summer following the expiry of his contract with Juventus, which will also suit Los Blancos' finances. The report adds that Real Madrid considered a move for the 29-year-old at the start of the summer. However, they have now decided against a move for the Frenchman.

Los Blancos have targeted younger talents in the market of late, which could have a bearing on their decision. Meanwhile, Ancelotti has Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde already vying for the midfield places. Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz also remain in the mix, so a new midfielder might not be a priority this summer at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Brahim Diaz is determined to fight for his place at Real Madrid, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Spaniard was in fine form for Los Blancos last season, registering 12 goals and nine assists from 44 games across competitions.

The 25-year-old carried out various roles in midfield and attack under Carlo Ancelotti and proved himself a worthy member of the squad. However, he is part of an extremely competitive setup and could struggle for game time next season.

The situation has raised questions of his future and a few of his suitors are apparently sniffing around. However, Diaz has no desire to leave the La Liga giants at the moment. He is hoping to play even more in the upcoming campaign, with Real Madrid involved in as many as seven competitions.

The Spanish champions consider him a vital cog in their plans and are not looking to let him go either.

Thibaut Courtois opens up on Endrick

Thibaut Courtois has compared Endrick to Eden Hazard. The Brazilian teenager arrived at Real Madrid this summer with a huge reputation. He started the pre-season game against Barcelona but failed to have an impact as Los Blancos lost 2-1.

Speaking after the game, Courtois urged the 18-year-old to stay calm.

“He doesn’t have much height, but has very strong legs. He is a bit like Eden Hazard I played with at Chelsea, who has strong legs. You can kick him and he’ll still stand up. And he has a lot of strength in the shot. In training I have seen him kick hard,” said Courtois.

He continued:

“Above all, I think it has to be a little calmer. I don’t know if he’s a little nervous. It’s going to get better and better.”

Endrick could struggle for chances this season with Carlo Ancelotti already spoilt for choice in attack.
