Real Madrid have reportedly learned the extent of Eduardo Camavinga’s internal collateral ligament injury ahead of their UEFA Super Cup clash against Atalanta BC on Wednesday, August 14, at National Stadium Warsaw in Poland. The annual Super Cup football match is contested by the winners of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

The French midfielder sustained the injury during Tuesday’s training session after having a collision with his club and national teammate Aurelien Tchouameni. A video footage of the incident surfaced on social media which shows the 21-year-old slip and fall in an attempt to dribble past Tchouameni.

Eduardo Camavinga was down on the field crying in pain while clutching his left knee with his club teammates consoling him. The Frenchman received primary assistance on the pitch from medical staff following which he walked off the field without assistance.

Real Madrid released a statement today that after undergoing tests, Camavinga has been diagnosed with a sprain of the internal collateral ligament in his left knee. He will be out of the pit for 6-7 weeks, as per @MadridXtra on X.

The Spanish giants did not officially mention a potential date or estimated timeline for the French midfielder's recovery which will ensure his return to the pitch, as of yet.
