Real Madrid have an interesting record when it comes to sales involving former player Alvaro Morata. The Spanish giants have reportedly made a whopping €74.8 million from deals involving the 31-year-old striker.

This is as per reports from Spanish outlet Diario AS, who have highlighted the Spain captain's profitability for Real Madrid has come through transfer fees and add-on payments.

Having begun his youth career with Real's cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid, Alvaro Morata joined Real Madrid's Castilla side, where he made his professional debut in 2010. He then spent a few years on the fringes of the first team where he was behind the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema in the pecking order.

Morata then moved to Juventus in 2014 and had his breakthrough spell with the club in the 2014-15 season. He scored five goals and provided two assists as Juve finished runner-up in the Champions League. He continued his good form in 2015-16, scoring 12 goals and assisting 11 times.

The Spaniard joined Real Madrid once again in 2016, as they exercised their buy-back clause on the player. He then had short spells with Chelsea, Juventus again, Atletico Madrid twice, and currently AC Milan.

Despite not being very prolific, he has managed to win silverware regularly and plays a key leadership role for the Spanish national side. Alvaro Morata recently captained La Roja to a record fourth UEFA Euro title and will look to have a good season with Milan as well.

Alvaro Morata and Rodri could be charged by UEFA for controversial chants

Spain defeated England 2-1 in the Euro 2024 final in Berlin on July 14, after which the Spanish side returned to their capital city Madrid for some celebrations. During the celebrations, Alvaro Morata and Rodri were reportedly involved in chants claiming 'Gibraltar is Spanish' and could be in hot water with UEFA.

This is as per UEFA's official website (via GBC News), where the post mentions the governing body is set to begin investigative proceedings into the matter.

UEFA has made it amply clear in the past that crossovers between football and politics is a major no-go, with strict action being threatened against violators. So far, they have discussed slapping Alvaro Morata and Rodri with charges of general misconduct, violation of rules and also for bringing the sport of football into disrepute.

Should the case materialize, both players could be banned from club and international football for a few games depending on how severely UEFA escalates this matter.
