After Manchester United's signing of Joshua Zirkzee on Sunday (14 July), fans have shared their excitement about the Dutch striker's addition to the Old Trafford outfit's squad on social media.

Over the last few weeks, Zirkzee was reportedly monitored by the Red Devils after his stellar campaign for Bologna last season. He was believed to be heavily linked with Serie A giants AC Milan, but he secured a transfer worth around £36 million to Erik ten Hag's outfit.

Joshua Zirkzee, who left Bayern Munich for close to £24 million in 2022, relished a fine season for Bologna last campaign. He helped his former club finish fifth in the 2023-24 Serie A table and qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 60 years.

A right-footed star blessed with flair and link-up play, the Netherlands international scored 12 goals in 37 matches across competitions for Bologna last term. He also laid out seven assists for the Italian club.

In comparison, Rasmus Hojlund registered 16 goals and two assists in 43 matches in all competitions for Manchester United past campaign.
