Former Lazio sports chief and Brescia striker Igli Tare claimed that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will be a manager in the Italian league in the future. The Spanish coach's current contract with the Premier League giants runs until the summer of 2025.

After starting his senior career with his boyhood club Barcelona, Pep Guardiola joined Brescia in 2001. Following a season, the Spaniard signed for Roma before returning to Brescia in 2003.

However, his time in Italy was not the best of his playing career, as he also received a four-month ban for testing positive for nandrolone although he was cleared of all charges in 2009.

Igli Tare and Pep Guardiola shared the pitch at Brescia for about two seasons. Despite the hurdles Guardiola faced while playing in Italy, Igli Tare feels that the La Masia graduate would return to the Serie A in a managerial role in the future.

The pundit told TMW Radio (via TribalFootball):

"I hope so for Italian football, it would be a fantastic thing. But knowing him and his bond with Brescia and the Italian people, I think that to close his cycle he really misses Italy and one day this dream will come true."
"He also has to show that in a difficult football like Italian football, he can win. Even if he doesn't have to prove anything," added Igli Tare.

Pep Guardiola, who is considered to be one of the greatest managers of all time, started his coaching career with Barcelona's reserve team in 2007. He was then in charge of the Catalan club's first team for four years, a period during which he won 14 trophies.

Guardiola was appointed as the head coach of Bayern Munich in 2013 and continued with the Bundesliga club till 2016, winning seven trophies.

In his ongoing eight-year tenure at Manchester City, the Spanish tactician has led his side to six Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups, two FA Cups, three FA Community Shields, one UEFA Champions League title, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup.

Manchester City reportedly considering Chelsea star as potential replacement for Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City are interested in signing back one of their academy graduates, Cole Palmer as a long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, according to Voetbal24.

The Belgian midfielder's contract with the Premier League giants is set to expire next summer and Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr are reportedly ready to offer him a deal.

Kevin De Bruyne arrived at Etihad in August 2015 from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg and has recorded 103 goals and 171 assists in 388 appearances across all competitions for Manchester City.

Cole Palmer started his senior career at City in 2020 and continued in Manchester till 2023, registering six goals and two assists in 41 matches. He joined Chelsea last season and has since turned a lot of heads with some great performances.

In his debut season for the Blues, Palmer scored 27 goals and provided 15 assists in 48 appearances across competitions. The 22-year-old has already recorded six goals and five assists in nine matches for the club so far this season.

Cole Palmer's current contract with Chelsea is valid until 2033. As per multiple reports, the west London club has estimated the Englishman to be around £125m.
