Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has shared a positive injury update. The 18-year-old summer arrival from Lille hasn't played since sustaining a foot injury in pre-season.

Initially expected to be out of action for three months, the French teenager is seemingly closing in on his much-awaited competitive first-team debut two months into the new season.

In a video tweeted by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Yoro was seen warming up on a tread mill as he said:

"On the way back"

Yoro fractured his foot in a pre-season clash in the US with Arsenal. Last month, manager Erik ten Hag shared an update on the youngster (via GOAL):

"That's part of football. That's part of top football especially, that you come into, you go to the edge, every player has to go to the edge. And yeah, then injuries are not avoidable.
"But, of course, we have to be ready as a club and as a team to cover this and the players are dealing very well with this setback. They (Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund) are very positive. They are already recovering, and they will return."

While Hojlund has returned to action, Yoro is expected to follow suit soon for a United side languishing in 14th place in the Premier League after seven games. The Red Devils trail leaders Liverpool (18) by 10 points, having won just twice and coming off a goalless draw at Aston Villa last weekend.

As mentioned earlier, Manchester United have made a poor start to the season, especially in the Premier League, where they need to move up the standings soon to ease the pressure on boss Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils have lost three times this season, with two of them being 3-0 home defeats to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, while the other reverse was a last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ten Hag's side have hardly fared better in Europe, drawing goalless at home to FC Twente in their UEFA Europa League opener before drawing 3-3 at Porto. However, they have started well in the EFL Cup, trouncing Barnsley 7-0 at home in their opener.

The Red Devils return to league action after the international break with a home game with Brentford on October 19. Having not scored in their last three league outings, Ten Hag's side are in desperate need of a pick-me-up.
