Neymar sends message to Lamine Yamal after Barcelona star is spotted wearing his Santos shirt 

Lamine Yamal has always been open about his admiration for Neymar and he recently donned the Brazilian's iconic jersey from his days at Santos FC and posted it on his Instagram while on vacation in Greece.

Santos FC shared the image of Yamal wearing the No. 11 jersey and the Al-Hilal star reposted the image on his story to send the Barcelona youngster a message.

"Grande @lamineyamal," Neymar wrote on Instagram.

Santos FC also invited Yamal to visit the club after he shared the image of himself in Neymar's jersey. On their official Instagram handle, the club wrote:

"This shirt is historic, Yamal. Let's gift you with the new Sacred Mantle. If you prefer, you can come and take it in Vila Belmiro and take the opportunity to get to know the Holy Temple of world football during your holidays. Black and White Greetings, Town Boy!"

Yamal has got himself a much-needed break after a successful Euro campaign with Spain. The Barcelona star scored one goal and provided four assists in the match and was lauded by pundits and fans for his exceptional performances.

Lamine's partnership with Nico Williams was another widely appreciated factor that led to Spain's victory. Williams and Yamal recreated Ney's iconic dances on the pitch after scoring or assisting important goals. They also performed the Brazilian's signature dance steps during La Roja's Euro victory celebrations.

Lamine Yamal named Neymar as the player he enjoyed watching the most

In an interview with El Chiringuito TV during Euro 2024, Lamine Yamal revealed that although he considered Lionel Messi the best player in the history of the sport, he enjoys watching the former Santos FC star the most.

"I have always said that Messi is the best player in history for me but the one I liked to watch was Neymar. He made me want to watch the games; he made me have fun. It was nice to see him play," Lamine Yamal mentioned (via GOAL).

Yamal had also named the Selecao star as his role model alongside Messi in an interview with GQ.

“When I was little, I looked up to Messi or Neymar and seeing that children now look up to me is amazing,” Lamine Yamal said.
