New Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has posted about his new 'home' after being unveiled at the club on Tuesday (July 16). The 25-year-old arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu on a free transfer.
After a prolific seven-season stint at PSG - where he scored a record 256 goals - Mbappe is ready for a new adventure after a glittering unveiling ceremony where the club's all 15 UEFA Champions League trophies were on display.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has posted a message on X (formerly called Twitter) as he announced his new 'home':
"Mi nueva casa. ¡Hala Madrid! (my new home Hala Madrid)"
Earlier, Mbappe reprised club legend Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic 'Uno, dos, tres Hala Madrid' comment on his unveiling 15 years ago when he had arrived at the Bernabeu from Manchester United.
The Portugal captain would leave the club as a bonafide legend, scoring a staggering 450 goals in 438 games across competitions. He won a plethora of titles, including two La Liga and four UEFA Champions League (including an unprecedented three on the trot).
Real Madrid new signing Kylian Mbappe comments on his availability for club's pre-season tour
New Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe has provided an update on his physical condition and his potential availability for the club's pre-season tour. The France captain suffered a broken nose at Euro 2024, where Les Bleus lost 2-1 to eventual winners Spain in the semi-final.
With Los Blancos set to embark on their pre-season tour of the United States, Mbappe said that he's set to make his competitive debut in the UEFA Super Cup with Atalanta in Warsaw on August 4. He said (as per GOAL) that his pre-season availability would depend on what head coach Carlo Ancelotti and the medical team say:
"We'll see with the coach and the club. If the club says yes, I'll go. I'm at the club's disposal. I hope I'll play the Super Cup match, it's up to the coach to decide. I'm going to get to work to play the first match.
"I am in contact with the medical staff, I am listening to what is recommended to me and I will resume playing when possible. I want to be able to contribute as much as possible to the team as soon as possible."
Coming off a lean Euro 2024 campaign - one goal and two assists in five games - Kylian Mbappe will hope to hit the ground running at Real Madrid.
