Popular YouTuber Mr Beast recently claimed that he would consider collaborating with Lionel Messi to beat Cristiano Ronaldo in subscriber count. The Portuguese forward launched his own YouTube channel, UR Cristiano, in August 2024.

Ronaldo's growing popularity on YouTube poses a major threat to Mr Beast's record, who currently holds the most subscribed channel on YouTube with 318 million subscribers. Shortly after launching his channel, Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed Mr Beast by recording the fastest growth in a single month for a YouTube channel. The Al-Nassr star has 63.8 million subscribers, but could soon close in on Mr Beast's numbers.

In an interview on the IMPAULSIVE podcast, Jimmy Donaldson aka Mr Beast spoke about Ronaldo posing a threat to his record of highest number of subscribers on YouTube. Donaldson said (via GOAL):

“I broke the world record for most subs gained in a month, it was like 20 million, and then two months later, Ronaldo comes on and 3x’s it. He’s crushing, obviously. I mean, Ronaldo is Mr. Rizz. But yeah, if there were someone who would pass me, it would be Ronaldo.”

The YouTuber further claimed he would not go down with a fight, indicating that he would be willing to bring in Ronaldo's archrival Lionel Messi for a collaboration to beat him. He added:

"I’m not going down without a fight. I mean Messi, let’s go! If Messi’s the only thing standing between Ronaldo passing me… I mean, if I got to do a Messi collab."

Donaldson has previously called Messi "officially the best football player on the planet" in a video appearance with internet personality Spreen. His comment came after Ronaldo said he wanted to become the most subscribed YouTuber and beat Mr Beast's record.
