Ronaldo is definitely one of the greatest players in the history of the tournament. He is the highest-scoring player in the history of the tournament with 140 goals in 197 appearances including a stunning 67 goals in the knockout stages.

He lifted the trophy five times with Real Madrid and Manchester United and is the only player to score in three separate finals.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes admission about personal glory after Al-Nassr's win over Al-Rayyan

Cristiano Ronaldo claimed that personal accolades were no longer a focus for him in his career. The Portuguese superstar suggested that his intention was to help Al-Nassr win games.

The 39-year-old scored once as the Saudi Pro League side defeated Qatari team Al-Rayyan in the AFC Champions League on September 30. After the game, he said (via press conference):

“It is not important anymore whether I am the best or not, I no longer care about that. It is good for a player to score goals, but for me it is better for the team to win.
“I am used to breaking records and I no longer look for them. The most important thing for me now is to enjoy and help Al Nassr and my teammates to win.”

In an illustrious career filled with great moments, the Portuguese has now reached the twilight of his tenure. In his time across Europe with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus he established himself as one of the greats of the sport, winning the Ballon d'Or five times.

However, this year marks the first time in over 15 years that neither Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi have made the 30-man shortlist for the prestigious award. He will be hoping to put it aside and help fire Al-Nassr to their first piece of silverware in his tenure in the Middle East.
