Manchester United star Mason Greenwood was spotted playing with former teammate Shola Shoretire in Manchester on Friday, July 5. He was spotted amid reports suggesting that he would be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the summer.

The Englishman has had a turbulent career following his arrest in 2022. He was arrested for alleged sexual harassment but all charges against him were later dropped. He was then sent on a season-long loan to Spanish outfit Getafe last season.

The 22-year-old managed 10 goals and six assists in 36 appearances across all competitions and also bagged the Player of the Year award. Getafe president Angel Torres admitted in May that the club would like nothing better for Greenwood to return to Estadio Coliseum this summer.

He said that Manchester United would be willing to offload the forward this summer should they get a decent offer. Reports suggest that The Red Devils are seeking £34 million for their academy graduate. Several other clubs, including Marseille and Lazio, have emerged as frontrunners to bag Greenwood's signature.

However, having already played in Spain and having established a good relationship with the club and the fans, the Englishman would be hoping to reunite with Getafe.

His contract with the club runs until 2025 with an option to extend it by another year. However, there's no doubt that Greenwood will be leaving the club this summer.

Shoetire, meanwhile, came through Manchester United's academy and has made five senior appearances. His contract expired last month but he's reportedly in talks for an extension.

Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford return to training at Manchester United

The two players weren't selected by Gareth Southgate for England's squad for Euro 2024. Rashford had a forgetful season last year. In 43 appearances across all competitions, Rashford managed eight goals and five assists.

Meanwhile, Sancho was sent on loan to his former club Borussia Dortmund in January following his fallout with United boss Erik ten Hag. Despite having a turbulent season, the Englishman managed to reach his first UEFA Champions League final with Dortmund.

Sadly, the German outfit lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid, losing 2-0, with Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr scoring for the Los Blancos. It is currently unclear what the future holds for the Englishman. Dortmund would like nothing more for their star player to return to Signal Iduna Park.

However, Manchester United have qualified for the Europa League and with Erik ten Hag has been given a new life at Old Trafford. Hence, Jadon Sancho might finally hit the ground running but will have to apologise to the Dutchman for it to happen.
