Manchester United are reportedly in the process of concluding talks with Serie A outfit Bologna over the signing of striker Joshua Zirkzee this summer. Netherlands international striker Zirkzee is wanted by multiple clubs after impressing for his Italian club in 2023-24.

The Red Devils are seeking a replacement for striker Anthony Martial, who left the club after his contract expired on June 30. The Frenchman missed the majority of the 2023-24 season, leaving 21-year-old Rasmus Hojlund to bear the goalscoring burden at the club.

Erik ten Hag has sanctioned a move for compatriot Joshua Zirkzee, and has held personal talks with the 23-year-old striker as well to convince him to join the club. David Ornstein reports that an agreement is already in place between the player and club over personal terms as well as the agent commission that proved a sticking point for AC Milan.

The Serie A giants were keen on signing the former Bayern Munich man but decided to turn away from a deal after failing to agree with his agent Kia Joorabchian over his commission. Since then, multiple sides, including Arsenal, have considered signing the striker.

Manchester United are in talks with Bologna over the fee to be paid for the striker, who scored 11 goals in Serie A to help his side reach the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils consider his €40 million release clause plus the commission to be paid to his agent to be within limits of reason, but are seeking the best option for payment.

Stringent financial rules put in place by the Premier League have caused the club to reconsider paying the release clause in full, seeing as they intend to move for several other players this summer. They may look to negotiate a slightly higher fee for the striker that will see them pay for his signing in installments.

Manchester United set to complete sale of flop to La Liga outfit - Reports

Manchester United are prepared to sell midfielder Donny van de Beek to Spanish outfit Girona after his struggles at the club. Fabrizio Romano reports that the Red Devils will receive an upfront fee of €500,000 for the Netherlands international, with add-ons potentially taking the deal to €10-15 million.

Van de Beek has struggled for form and consistency since moving to England from Ajax, losing his place in the squad under multiple managers. The Dutchman spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt but failed to impress sufficiently to earn a permanent deal.

Romano revealed that talks are ongoing on the player's side as he looks to complete a permanent switch away from Manchester United. The availability of UEFA Champions League football in Spain could be a major determinant of Van de Beek joining.
