Manchester United are working to add more quality to their squad this summer. Erik ten Hag has already welcomed Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee to his roster, but remains in the market for further reinforcements.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have received a boost in their efforts to sign Adrien Rabiot this summer. Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are not working on a move for an English forward at the moment.

On that note, let's look at the major Manchester United transfer stories from July 30, 2024.

Manchester United have received a boost in their efforts to take Adrien Rabiot to Old Trafford. According to Tutto Juve, the French midfielder has turned down an approach from Liverpool as he wants to join the Red Devils.

Erik ten Hag is in the market for a new midfielder this summer. Casemiro has been a shadow of his former self of late and is likely to leave. Christian Eriksen is also in the final year of his contract and is unlikely to be handed a new deal.

The Dutch manager has reportedly identified PSG's Manuel Ugarte as an option to replace the Brazilian. However, prising him away from the Parc des Princes could be a costly affair.

Rabiot represents a cheaper alternative to the Uruguayan. The 29-year-old is now a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Juventus. He could be a fine option for Manchester United this summer and is also eager to move to Old Trafford.

PSG not in talks for Jadon Sancho, says journalist

PSG are not engaged in talks to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, according to Ligue 1 expert Jonathan Johnson. Recent reports have suggested that the Ligue 1 champions are eyeing a move for the Englishman as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

Sancho fell out with Erik ten Hag last season and was shipped off to Borussia Dortmund on loan. However, the two men have recently sorted out their differences and the 24-year-old is with the Manchester United squad for their pre-season tour of the US.

In his column for Caught Offside, Johnson pointed out that Sancho could end up staying at Old Trafford.

"With Sancho, though, it will be interesting to see if PSG actually put an offer on Manchester United’s table for him. Obviously for now Sancho and Erik ten Hag seem to have agreed to forget what’s gone on in the past and focus on the future, so there could be a way for Sancho to stay there and rebuild his career at Old Trafford," wrote Johnson.

He continued:

“So while there is interest from PSG in players of this kind of profile, and a desire to bolster their attack, I don’t think it’s a given that we’ll see Sancho or (Nico) Williams join. They’ll want to go about this in an intelligent way and not rush into things, so we’ll probably continue to hear rumblings about PSG and these players."

Sancho is under contract with the Red Devils until 2026.

Red Devils remain in talks for Matthijs de Ligt, says Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United remain in conversation with Bayern Munich for Matthijs de Ligt, according to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano. Erik ten Hag has already bolstered his team's backline by signing Leny Yoro this year.

However, the Dutch manager also has his eyes on De Ligt, who could leave the Allianz Arena this summer. Recent reports have suggested that the 24-year-old wants to move to Old Trafford as he is eager to work with his former manager. However, the Red Devils are yet to strike a deal with the Bavarians.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Romano insisted that the Premier League giants want to include add-ons in their offer for the Dutch defender.

“Manchester United have been wanting to include add-ons as part of the negotiation since day one of the story. When they started negotiating for Matthijs de Ligt, they discussed the possibility of including add-ons," said Romano.

He continued:

“For Manchester United, this has always been the perfect potential structure of the deal, so conversations continue. But, at the moment, there is still no agreement.”

Recent reports have suggested that Real Madrid have entered the race to sign De Ligt.
