Manchester United are working to add more quality to their roster before the start of the new season. Erik ten Hag is expected to push for improvements after an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League last term.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are interested in an Inter Milan midfielder. Elsewhere, the English giants have set their sights on Brazilian right-back Vanderson.

On that note, let's look at the major Manchester United transfer stories from July 27, 2024.

Manchester United eyeing Kristjan Asllani

Manchester United have entered the race to sign Kristjan Asllani, according to Inter Live. The Red Devils are in the market for midfielder reinforcements this summer. Casemiro is heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford after an underwhelming 2023/24 campaign.

Erik ten Hag is looking for an able replacement and recent reports have suggested that Manuel Ugarte has been identified as an option. However, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are likely to demand a premium fee for the Uruguayan, forcing the Premier League giants to consider alternatives.

Asllani has popped up on their radar, following an impressive campaign with Inter Milan. The 22-year-old could be a fine replacement for Casemiro and is expected to be available for €30m. Manchester United are reportedly willing to include Aaron Wan-Bissaka in their offer to sweeten a deal.

Red Devils want Vanderson, says Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United are keeping a close watch on Vanderson, according to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Brazilian right-back caught the eye with Monaco last season, registering three goals and one assist from 23 games across competitions.

The 23-year-old's efforts have earned him admirers at Old Trafford, with the club looking for Aaron Wan-Bissaka's replacement this summer. The Englishman has entered the final year of his contract with the Premier League giants and is likely to be offloaded this year.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Romano added that the Ligue 1 giants are willing to let Vanderson leave for €40m.

"Then another player they've been following for sure, is Vanderson from Monaco. He's a player they've been monitoring, but at the moment, it's very expensive. Monaco are always asking something around €40 million for Vanderson. So not something imminent or easy, also in this case," Romano said.

He continued:

"But for sure, the area of Manchester United is to bring in a new right back in case Wan-Bissaka leaves, although Wan-Bissaka at the moment is not convinced about West Ham."

Recent reports have suggested that the Red Devils also have their eyes on Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries for the position.

Sofyan Amrabat eager to return to Old Trafford, says Fabrizio Romano

Sofyan Amrabat wants to return to Old Trafford this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Moroccan midfielder spent last season on loan at Manchester United from Fiorentina.

Amrabat arrived with a big reputation but failed to live up to expectations due to injuries and lack of form. However, he had an impressive end to the season, registering a man-of-the-match performance against Manchester City in the 2-1 FA Cup final win.

The Red Devils had an option to sign him permanently this summer, which they opted not to exercise. However, recent reports have suggested that they remain interested in the 27-year-old.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Romano added that a move will depend on both clubs.

“Sofyan Amrabat remains another option they have on the list. Changing the terms with Fiorentina is needed because they will not trigger the buy option clause. The player is keen on returning to Manchester United, but it depends on the two clubs,” Romano said.

Amrabat's contract with the Serie A side expires at the end of next season.
