Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has claimed that Anfield has the best atmosphere, stating that he once visited Liverpool's stadium disguised as a fan.

Rashford, 26, is considered to be one of the best forwards on the Red Devils' books right now. The 60-cap England international has helped the Anfield outfit's rivals lift six trophies, including two FA Cup crowns.

During a recent chat with his club's media team, Rashford was asked to name the best away day as a fan. He replied (h/t Rousing The Kop):

"Best away, atmosphere wise, as a fan? Anfield. Yeah, I've been to Anfield a few times. One time whilst I've been playing... in a hoodie and a hat!"

Interestingly, two of Rashford's worst losses in his career have come at Anfield. He played for Manchester United in a 4-0 loss at Liverpool in 2022 before tasting a dispiriting 7-0 loss at the Reds' stadium in 2023.

Rashford, who made his Manchester United debut in 2016, is set to begin his 10th Premier League season as a Red Devils star later this Friday. He is likely to start his team's opening clash against Fulham.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will begin their 2024-25 Premier League campaign with an away encounter against Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Dwight Yorke says he would pick Liverpool superstar ahead of Manchester United ace

Speaking to betting website Boyle Sports, ex-Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke hailed Liverpool star Darwin Nunez. He said (h/t GOAL):

"If I could, I would swap Rasmus Hojlund for Darwin Nunez because he has more in his locker. He has pace, he has power, he can head the ball, he has the presence. He just needs to improve his finishing and he would be the best striker in the league. We need to wait and see if he can do that, but as a manager, I would choose Nunez over Hojlund any day of the week."

Since arriving in a potential £85 million transfer from Benfica in 2022, Nunez has been the Reds' first-choice number nine. The Uruguayan has registered 33 goals and 17 assists in 96 overall matches for his club.

Last campaign, the 25-year-old attacker found the back of the net 18 times and provided 13 assists in 3,026 minutes of action for Liverpool.

In comparison, Rasmus Hojlund registered 16 goals and two assists in 3,088 minutes last season after leaving Atalanta in a £72 million move.
