Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia was recently involved in a violent car accident while inside Marcus Rashford's Range Rover. Malacia and his friend were in Marcus Rashford's SUV while the United forward was following them from behind in another car.

The Dutchman and his friend were reportedly hit by a Mercedes C220 AMG on July 16 and were sent to the hospital afterward for first aid. Furthermore, the woman driving the car was suspected of drunk driving and was also taken to the Macclesfield Hospital for testing.

However, nothing serious happened to the two of them and both Marcus Rashford and Malacia were seen in the United training session the next day.

Tyrell Malacia has had a very tough season for the Red Devils as he underwent a knee meniscus surgery last summer and couldn't be available for even a single training session for Erik ten Hag's side. He was brought in from Feyenoord in July 2022 and has been at the Old Trafford camp ever since.

In an interview last season, Ten Hag explained that Tyrell Malacia was recruited to be a replacement for Luke Shaw but he had not even presented himself in the Red Devils training session last season because of surgery complications and recovery.

Malacia's last footballing action came way back on May 28, 2023, in Manchester United's 2-1 win over Fulham, and hasn't played a single minute since. However, the Dutchman seems to be making hefty progress in the recovery department and was pictured working on a customized fitness program and working closely with the United medical team.

Marcus Rashford endured a tough time with Manchester United last season and hit just eight goals and created five more in 43 games for the red outfit. He was a part of the Manchester United team that finished eighth in the Premier League table, their lowest Premier League finish in the history of the club.

These displays forced Gareth Southgate to leave him out of the England squad for their Euro 2024 campaign in which they finished second after a 2-1 loss to Spain in the finals. However, Erik ten Hag believes that Marcus Rashford can turn things around this season.

"He is capable, he scored so many goals already at a relatively young age, he is capable of it. So I am confident, 100% belief, he can do the same as a few years ago," commented the Red Devils boss (via Outlook).

Moreover, Manchester United veteran Ruud van Nistelrooy has returned to Old Trafford as a coach of the side and his attacking knowledge will surely benefit Marcus Rashford and other forwards in the team.
