Manchester United are reportedly keen on offloading Christian Eriksen this summer, with the Dane frustrated over his playing time. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder joined the Red Devils in 2022 following a six-month stint with Brentford.

Eriksen has featured in 72 games across competitions for Manchester United. He has scored three goals and assisted 13. He also won the FA Cup last season. Following a meeting with boss Erik ten Hag over his game time (as per Mirror via GOAL), Eriksen looks to be on his way out this summer.

According to the Mirror, United have backed Ten Hag to reshape the squad ahead of the 2024-25 season. That comes after reports that the Dutch manager would be on his way out following a harrowing 2023-24 season.

However, new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has put his faith in the former Ajax manager. Ten Hag will reportedly play an instrumental role in bringing in new reinforcements even as Jadon Sancho and Antony's future remain shrouded in uncertainty.

Sancho has returned to training with the first team following the culmination of his season-long loan at his former club Borussia Dortmund. Earlier, reports said that the manager wouldn't have a key role in acquisitions and would focus solely on tactics.

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen had suffered a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020

The Dane suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark's game against Finland at Euro 2020. Eriksen had just made the switch to Inter Milan from Tottenham Hotspur when the incident occurred.

Despite helping Inter Milan win their first Serie A title since 2009-10 and ending Juventus' stranglehold on the league title, the 32-year-old's contract was terminated following the incident.

Serie A rules dictate that players fitted with implantable cardioverter defibrillators aren't allowed to play in the league. Eriksen returned to action with a six-month contract with Brentford.

He scored his first goal in a 4-1 win against Chelsea in April 2022. It was also the Bees' first win against the Blues since 1939. Following the end of his contract, the Dane joined Manchester United on a three-year deal. It's reported that Spurs were also interested in resigning him.

However, Eriksen, who was familiar with Ten Hag's playing style, agreed to arrive at Old Trafford.
