Manchester United have reportedly hit a major roadblock in their search for a new manager as Thomas Tuchel is in advanced talks with England FA to become the country's new manager. The German is tipped to replace the interim head coach Lee Carsley and succeed Gareth Southgate.
The former Bayern Munich coach had a clause in his contract which says that he could leave the club as a free agent despite it running till 2025. Bayern will not receive any transfer fees if England do decide to appoint the German, reported reputed sports journalist Florian Plettenburg in a tweet.
Earlier, TBR had reported that the Red Devils are under immense pressure from their supporters to sack current manager Erik Ten Hag after a disastrous start to the new season.
Although Ten Hag retained his job with Manchester United, courtesy of winning the FA Cup final against Manchester City in May, INEOS, the co-owners of the club, are not too keen on continuing with the Dutchman. However, it is learnt that they will stick with him till the January transfer window at the very least.

Tuchel was sacked by Bayern in May earlier this year and is best known for his tactical astuteness. He was renowned for winning the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea by beating rivals Manchester City in the final in 2020-21. The 51-year-old is famous for the defensive solidity of his teams.
Manchester United are in a hole at the moment, having conceded eight goals and scored just five in the seven matches that they have played so far in the Premier League. They are ranked a lowly 14th in the league table at the moment.
Their Europa League run has not been great either, having drawn both the matches they have played so far - against Twente and Porto.
Ten Hag is under a lot of pressure to retain his place as manager and if the results do not pick up for him after the international break, things will start looking bleak. To make matters worse, Manchester United play five matches in 11 days across the Premier League and UEFA Europa League soon after the break.
