Manchester City target Dani Olmo recently responded to a question about a potential transfer to Barcelona in the summer transfer window. The La Masia graduate has been playing for RB Leipzig since 2020 and is contracted with the Bundesliga club until June 30, 2027.

After the 26-year-old forward recently won the Euro 2024 title with Spain, many clubs including the Blaugrana, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing him.

When asked about him joining the Catalan outfit at a recent event, Dani Olmo said (via @ManagingBarca):

"Sign for Barcelona? We'll see."

While speaking about where he would like to play in the upcoming season, Olmo said (via Barca Blaugranes):

"The people who deal with these matters already know what I want. What I want is to be in a place where I am valued and the most important thing for me is to win, I am very ambitious. We have also won titles at Leipzig and the club knows how ambitious I am. It is always nice to be associated with big teams."

When asked specifically about his possibility of signing for the Blaugrana, the Spaniard replied:

"There are several options, the people who manage my affairs know what I want, as I said."

Dani Olmo recorded eight goals and five assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for RB Leipzig last season.

Barcelona sporting director reportedly meets with Dani Olmo's agent

It was reported that Barcelona Sporting director Deco recently met with Dani Olmo’s agent this week to talk about the potential transfer, as per Football España.

On Wednesday evening (July 17), the Barcelona sporting director also had a meeting with Nico Williams’ agent Félix Tainta in the city of Zaragoza to discuss the Athletic Bilbao star's future, as per @barcacentre on X.

However, during the meeting with the RB Leipzig forward’s agent, it was mentioned that the possible movie, was not strictly dependent on Nico Williams’ signing, as per Mundo Deportivo. Olmo is reportedly considered an alternative to Williams as it is unlikely the Blaugrana will sign both players.

Olmo, who netted three goals and provided two assists in six appearances in Euro 2024, reportedly has a release clause of €60m in his contract that expires on July 20.
