Crystal Palace are on the brink of securing the services of Chelsea outcast Trevoh Chalobah on a season-long loan, according to The Athletic. The deal, which does not include an option for a permanent transfer next summer, will see the Blues receive an undisclosed loan fee.

Chalobah, 25, is set to undergo a medical at Selhurst Park before the transfer is officially completed on Friday, just hours before the summer deadline day. The English center-back, who emerged from Chelsea’s youth academy, has been deemed surplus to requirements by Enzo Maresca, leading to his exclusion from the senior team’s training sessions.

Chalobah’s current contract with the London giants runs until 2028, but his future with the club is uncertain. The defender has made 80 first-team appearances for the Blues since his debut in the 2021-22 season but featured in only 13 Premier League games last season due to an injury that sidelined him until February.

The move to Crystal Palace presents an opportunity for Chalobah to revive his career and secure regular playing time under manager Oliver Glasner. The Eagles are scheduled to face Chelsea in their next Premier League fixture on Sunday.

Arsenal push to secure Chelsea winger before transfer deadline: Reports

Arsenal are making an effort to finalize the signing of out-of-favor Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling before the transfer window closes, according to reports from TEAMtalk. The player, who has been sidelined at Stamford Bridge due to new signings in the wide positions, has expressed his interest in the move to Arsenal.

The 82-time capped England international has struggled to find playing time under new Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca, and his exclusion from the squad for the Premier League opener against Manchester City further fueled his desire to leave. Despite being contracted to the Blues for another three years and earning a substantial £325,000 per week, efforts to move the winger have proven difficult.

After deliberating overnight, Arsenal's sporting director Edu made contact with the player on Friday morning, signaling their intent to secure the deal. TEAMtalk reported that the winger has agreed to personal terms with Arsenal and is eager to make the move. He is also understood to have accepted a significant salary reduction to facilitate the transfer.

Negotiations are ongoing, with the outcome likely to result in either a loan move with an obligation to buy or a permanent transfer.
